If you are aged between 50 to 74 the Bowel Screening Programme will invite you for screening every two years. A screening kit will be sent to your home address with clear instructions on how to use the kit and return it for testing.

If you are over 74 years of age, you can self refer to the bowel screening centre and they will post a free kit out to you - please 'phone FREEPHONE 0800 0121 833

Although bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in Scotland after lung and breast Cancer, with over 3000 people being diagnosed every year, it is also highly treatable if detected early.  If it is found early enough, there is a more than 90% chance of successful treatment.  The sooner it is caught, the easier it is to treat.
