Almost one third of the patients of our Practice need repeat prescriptions of one sort or another. This generates a considerable amount of work for the receptionists and administrative staff, especially at certain times of the week.

pillsWe want to ensure that we get your request for more medication correct, and so would ask you to try to use the tear-off strip attached to each repeat prescription.

Please give us plenty of notice to ensure that you do not run short of medication before your repeat is made available. We ask that you allow 48  hours (2 working days) for that prescription to be signed.

There is a voluntary collection of prescriptions from the Surgery to the Fortrose pharmacy twice a day, with a corresponding return of prescribed medication in mid-afternoon. If you prefer, you can leave pre-paid envelopes (free from most pharmacies) at reception and we will post out your prescription to a pharmacy of your choice once it has been signed by the clinician. Please note that this information is not sent electronically to the pharmacy and you need to allow for postage time.

Your repeat prescription may be renewed without necessarily seeing the Doctor.

You can either:

  1. Visit the practice and return the request slip.
  2. Fill in the form on this page and it will automatically be sent to the practice.
  3. Post the script to us

Your prescription will be ready for collection from the surgery the following afternoon. If you make your request on a Friday afternoon, it will not be available until the Monday afternoon.
